The Kua Number is another concept of Feng Shui that is important in achieving the proper flow of Chi or energy in your home. Feng Shui assigns a specific Kua number (any number between 1 and 9) to each individual depending on his or her Feng Shui group.
Say you already calculated for your Kua Number and it happened to be 1. This means you are part of the East Feng Shui group; it is best that you are always facing the southeast, east, south or north. You can then adjust the position of your bed, dining area, or home office in such a way that they are facing in these directions.

Once you are able to indentify your own birth element, it is then time to incorporate it to your home by introducing expressions of this element throughout the house. There are five birth elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water) and it is determined by the year you were born.

The five elements of Feng Shui is a concept that you must understand in order to properly apply this Eastern Philosophy in your home. Wood, fire, earth, metal, and water are the five elements and each of them is represented by a specific color and shape, among other things. In order to have a smooth flow of energy in your home, you must be able to strike a balance between all 5 elements.
The easiest way to apply the 5 elements in our home is by using the colors of each element in your fixtures and furnishings.
